To commemorate the birth of Charles Darwin on 12 Feb 1809 please join in trying to lift the veil of ignorance that for too many people surrounds the Theory of Evolution.

Wednesday, 12 February, in the Great Hall of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lexington Dr. Robert Bevins, President of Kentuckians for Science Education (KSE), will present "The Darwin We Don't Know." Robert received his BS in Biology from Georgetown College and  PhD in Toxiclogy from the University of Kentucky. He has taught biology at Georgetown as an adjunct and visiting assistant professor. He was "inducted into skepticism at birth having been born on a Friday the 13th."  KSE advocates for the improvement of science standards of education and teaching science in accordance with the best scientific evidence available.

While the adults hear from Dr. Bevins, older children will hold a discussion of Charles Darwin and the theory of evolution.

Childcare will be provided for younger children.

Following Robert's presentation, every one is invited to join in celebrating CD's 105th birthday with cake and light refreshments in the church foyer.
