The Humanist Institute is committed to a humanism that is ecumenical, nontheistic, and naturalistic, a humanism that tries to bring together all humanists regardless of their preferred adjectives (religious, secular, environmental). We recognize that our various organizational supporters have too often felt that their own integrities depended upon critiques of other humanistic groups. Wasteful of human energies, this has also proved largely self defeating.
